There is more to the sport of triathlon
than the extreme stuff you've seen on television.  There are hundreds of your neighbours out there each weekend enjoying one of the world's fastest growing sports.  This is your invitation to join them.

On September 3rd there are a series of triathlons taking place in Ottawa.  One of them, the Try-a-Tri, consists of a very manageable 200m swim, 15km bike and a 5km run.  Let me clarify some aspects of each section for you before we go any further:

Swim: You can use any stroke, however fast or slow that moves your body forward through water.  And all you need is a swim suit and goggles.

Bike: Any bike will do, from a $30 garage sale special to the most expensive brand, as long as the bike is safe and works.  Also, make sure you have a helmet.  You can treat the bike portion as a race, or just another Sunday ride along the canal.

Run: Some run fast, some jog slow, some walk parts of the course.  Bring some good shoes and you're ready to go.
