9 Jul 44 damaged a small Japanese oiler with gunfire to the north of Sumatra.
14 Sep 44 sank three Siamese sailing vessels with gunfire off the west coast of Siam.
19 Sep 44 sank a Siamese sailing vessel with gunfire north of Sumatra.
22 Jan 45 sank the Japanese Ryushin Maru and another vessel with gunfire in the Java Sea, 06º02'S, 110º41'E.
14 Mar 45 sank the Japanese coaster Ryuho Maru (approx. 300 GRT) with gunfire off Massalambo Island in the Java Sea, 05º34'S, 114º26'E.
Scrapped at Grays, Essex.

Originally P77. Commanded by a Canadian, Lt. Cdr. "Freddy" Sherwood, DSC*, RCNVR, - the first of the 'Volunteer Reserve'
to be given a command in WW2 (slightly pre-dating Edward Young of Storm) - from the time she was built until she was loaned to the French.
Sherwood was also Ben Bryant's 1st Lt. in both Sealion and Safari. 3rd Flotilla, HMS Forth, Holy Loch for Work-Up. First war patrol
to North Atlantic 29-Dec-43 to 12-Jan-44. Returned to Lerwick, Shetlands, replaced battery and repaired 'singing' screw. Sailed for Ceylon,
arrived April 44. 8th Flotilla, HMS Maidstone. Made two patrols then transitted to Fremantle. Bombarded installations on Andaman
Islands and Christmas Island. Made three further patrols, totalling 109 days at sea - the 3 longest patrols by any 'S' class submarine - 34, 38 and 37
days [Sirdar achieved one of 49 days] - but with little luck. Returned to UK April 1945 for refit. (Ack. Dave Perkins, David Grant).
June 1945 arrived UK. 1952-58 Served with French Navy. 1 July 1963, arrived Faslane to be broken up.

tons, south west of La Spezia.
21 Nov 42, torpedoed and damaged the Italian destroyer Velite.
23 Nov 42, sank the Italian merchant Luigi Favorita (3576 tons)
east of Cagliari.
17 Dec 42 torpedoed and sank the Italian destroyer Aviere north of
Bizerta, Tunisia. Aviere and her sister ship Camicia Nera were
escorting the German transport ship Ankara.
Dec-42, attacked and sank the MV Sant Antioco, 5,048 tons while on passage to Algiers.
Jan 43, Landed agents in Corsica
15 Jan 43, torpedoed and sank the Italian merchant Emma (7931 tons)
in the Tyrrhenian Sea in position 40.25N,13.56E. The Emma was
escorted by the Italian torpedo boats Groppo, Uragano and Clio.
Despite this heavy escort, Splendid managed to sink the merchant.
19 Jan 43, sank the Italian ships Commercio (766 tons) and Cleopatra
(72 tons) off Sardinia in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
17 Feb-43, sank two ships, one being the 4,800 ton XXI Aprile off Cape St Vito. Attacked but missed two ships the following day.
17-Mar-43, sank the tanker Devoli, 3,177 tons, off Palermo, and on 21st the
tanker Georgio, 4,887 tons.
21-Apr-43: South of Capri, Tyrrhenian Sea, (c 40-30'N, 14-15'E) - Depth charged by the German (ex-Greek) destroyer ZG-3/Hermes
and forced to the surface. The crew scuttled the boat and five Officers and 25
Ratings were picked up by the destroyer. 18 men lost. Some casualties were caused
by gunfire from the Hermes. See details.
Lt Ian McGeoch was a POW in Italy, 1943; escaped to GB via Switzerland,
France and Spain, 1943-1944.
