In April 2006 I bought an old and used digital camera - a compact Olympus, of maybe 3Mp? - and the photographs I managed to get inspired me to start anew with my old hobby. Many years ago - the early 1980s - I graduated from simple snapshot cameras to become reasonably competent with a 35mm SLR, starting with a fully manual Praktica to the excellent Minolta X700, and also with developing and printing, but once my daughter arrived, in 1986, I lost my darkroom and the spare time to go wandering off alone in search of pictures.

Now my daughter is grown and I live in the picturesque city of Kingston, on the shore of Lake Ontario. Many fine buildings are in the city, and I captured them reasonably well with the old Olympus.

In trying to get some pictures representative of Kingston and the different areas and elements around here, I've come to the conclusion that I bit off more than I could chew - I've only just scratched the surface and have yet to include pictures from the 1000 Islands, Toronto and many of the smaller towns, and then there's Rideau Canal, Ottawa, Algonquin Provincial Park... etc etc etc. Most of my pictures go on to Flickr at some point and I've added a link below to my collection on there.
