Around this time, oil was my preferred medium. Aside from the thick consistency of the paint, which gave the paintings an interesting surface texture, it also tended to produce "warmer" tones than acrylic. That warmth was ideal for this subject which appears to be a Mediterranean village drenched in sunlight.
