General Notations

‘Wind on Water’ is a combination of an excerpt from the
live performance at the Paris Olympia on May 28, 1975
with subsequent guitar overdubs made at Olympic Studios in London.

‘Wind on Wind’ is listed as an excerpt from ‘Discreet Music’,
however the “frequency of musical events” appears to be shorter
than on the ‘Discreet Music’ release, which would indicate
a separate performance or an alternate edit creating more frequent musical events.

‘Evening Star’ contains some beautiful un-credited acoustic piano playing.
It is technically simplistic enough to have been played by Eno and assumed to therefore be so.

This newest version is 24-bit remaster from the original analogue tapes
with very minimal noise reduction applied making it the most
accurate representation to date.
No new material, mixes or information has been included unfortunately,
however the only previous complete versions of
‘An Index of Metals’ suffered from an edit around the 7 minute mark
which was possibly made initially to accommodate the time restrictions
for the original vinyl 1975 issue and not corrected for the 1989 Definite CD Edition.
This has thankfully been rectified with this new remaster.
Additional CD index points have been added for this track as well,
to allow quicker/easier access to specific points in the music.

The artwork includes an additional photo taken by Antonio Tiadra
taken from what appears to be a backstage interview session
at the Fripp & Eno performance in Madrid on May 21, 1975.
