Descendants of:
CHRISTIAN GOOD and ANNA SCHMIDT

Updated: October 30, 2011

The first knowledge we have of our "Good" ancestors is that one named Christian Good was born in Switzerland in the year 1690 and was married in the early part of the 1720's to Anna Schmidt, also born in Switzerland.

In 1737 the family, along with Christian's two brothers, Abraham and Peter, left their homes in Zurich and emigrated to Pennsylvania. Abraham was unmarried and died in 1743. Peter Good and his family moved to Virginia in 1759.

Christian and Anna emigrated to Philadelphia, however after a stay of very few weeks they were informed that others of their religion had settled in Lancaster County and were doing very well. Wanting to be with their own countrymen, they moved and settled in Lancaster County, near Muddy Creek, Pennsylvania. Christian and Anna had a family of 2 sons and 3 daughters. We follow the history of their two sons Peter and John.
