I'm Brave!

What’s that noise around the house?
It isn’t rabbits, it’s not a mouse.
It makes me scared, it’s very loud,
But I’m a dog, and brave and proud!

I’ll bark a bit and wait and see
If that thing is scared of me.
It hasn’t stopped, I’ll bark some more,
I think it’s coming in the door!

I’ll hide behind this chair and wait,
And bark a bit. Oh it’s too late!
A mighty crash comes from on high,
As it comes flying from the sky.

Some shouts, a light - what’s happened now?
I must be brave and show them how,
I wasn’t scared, but wild and bold,
And must be worth my weight in gold!

I chased the monster from the door,
Now they’ll forget the kitchen floor,
And pat my head and give me treats,
Just to reward my wondrous feats!

“Don’t worry boy, go back to sleep,
The water isn’t really deep,
It’s just the wind and now it’s dropped,
And now we think the rain has stopped.”

“It’s just the wind”? What do they mean!
They haven’t seen what I have seen.
A monster just outside the door,
I’ll show them now and bark some more!

The noise has stopped, I’m tired now,
I really think I’ve showed them how,
No matter what may come this way,
I’ll scare it off and save the day!
