A life so young released to heaven, left on earth we wonder 'why',
But some are sent among us briefly, some have spirits meant to fly.
Sophie passed away on February 14th, 2005. She was ten years old.
Sophie's Mom, Michelle, writes this tender and loving tribute to her much-loved and deeply missed beautiful daughter.
Sophie was a real "girlie" girl and her favourite colours were pink and lilac.
She loved picking and buying her own clothes (preferably with her
carer - as parents were not 'cool'!) and we have (had) a "Next" account card for
her.
As you can see from the last two pictures she had lovely, long, luscious, brown
hair but she did not like having it brushed and would constantly moan
and whine throughout the process! Sophie also had amazing blue eyes
and gorgeous long eyelashes. People would stop us and comment on her
eyelashes and ask if I had thought about auctioning them on e-bay!
Sophie's all-time favourite pastime was watching and listening to
her favourite groups on video and dvd. Her most favourite was Ronan Keating, whom
she was in love with, and would stare at him in an adoring dream-like state!
She also loved Westlife, Robbie Williams, Blue, Steps and S-Club 7 and
many of my weekends have been taken up with going to their concerts with Sophie
grinning from ear to ear and totally in her element!
The picture of Sophie in the blue top was taken when she went to
Eurodisney which was paid for by a charity.
It was her happiest time ever and we are so glad we took her and have those lovely
happy memories to remember.
She stayed up until 12 oclock to watch the fantasia light show and firework display
and went to bed with the biggest smile on her face ever!
When Sophie was ill she never complained or moaned unless she was
in a great deal of pain. She was a very stubborn and brave little girl.
Even in the last week of her life the Doctors would predict what would happen next
and Sophie would defy them.
In the end, they had to admit that she was unique and had her own agenda and
she was going to do it her way right up to the last.
