- Cornwall is about 100 Km south of Ottawa and 100 Km west of Montreal, right on the St. Lawrence River.
- The Seaway Valley Amateur Radio Club has existed for a number of
years in the Cornwall Area, and currently has about 40 members.
We operate a VHF repeater, called
VE3SVC, located at the Cornwall Community Hospital – McConnell site in Cornwall. The VHF repeater is on 147.180+ with a PL tone
of 110.9 Hz. The repeater has been available continuously for a number of
years barring a few repairs and some antenna swaps. It even survived Ice
Storm '98 without a hiccup. Our Net is on 147.180 Monday nights at 7 pm local. It's open and
informal, and frequently drifts off-topic with a vengeance.
- There is a UHF repeater, VE3MTA, 443.650+, PL 110.9, located at the Cornwall Community Hospital – McConnell in Cornwall.
- There is a UHF Repeater VA3SDG on 444.450+,
PL 110.9 with an IRLP node also located at the Cornwall Community Hospital – McConnell. The node number is 2804.
- The club is active as part of Cornwall's Emergency Measures Organization. Several of
our members serve on the city's Emergency Management Committee in
different functions.
