Structural
Integration (SI):
- Provided by Cynthia
Structural Integration is a form of manual work
that focuses on the connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds
all muscles, bones and organs though out our bodies. As ones’
fascia is lengthened, the muscles beneath it can function more
efficiently. In turn, once your body is aligned and balanced,
you will be able to move with greater ease. This 10 session program
is most beneficial to those suffering with chronic pain. Such
as:
- Recovery from surgery
- Fibromyalgia
- Traumatic Injury
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Scoliosis
- And more
Each Structural Integration session focuses on a
segment of your body. Subsequent treatments build upon the last
until alignment is complete. Thus enabling greater flexibility
and better balance throughout your day.
Sports
Injury Therapy (SIT):
- Provided by Cynthia
Sports Injury Therapy specializes in treating injuries
caused by recreational activities, exercise programs, sports,
and/or other activities of daily living. It uses a combination
of manual and electrical therapies, such as:
- TENS
- Ultrasound
- IFC
- Biofeedback
- Russian Stim
Ultrasound: Uses sound
waves, outside of human normal hearing range, stimulate the repair
of soft tissue and for pain relief.
TENS, IFC, High Voltage, Premod, Russian, Symmetrical Biphasic,
and Microcurrent: Each of these terms describes
a specific type of electrical current that can be used to aid
in tissue healing. Depending on the parameters and the wave form
used, the effects on the body will be different. The most common
ailments treated with electrical stimulation are:
- Pain
- Swelling
- Muscle re-education
- Muscle strengthening
- Muscle spasm and guarding
- And more
At times, an injury may be too painful for a therapist
to massage directly. By using the electrical modalities mentioned
above, an injury can be treated without causing more pain to the
client.
Once the injury has been assessed, the most effective
form of treatment will be designed for you. A treatment may include
combination of the above mentioned electrical and manual therapies,
as well as exercise, and possibly taping to ensure no further
damage is done to the area. |
