Photo Details: Scope: GSO 8" Newtonian @ f/4 Filters: Lumicon Deep Sky Filter Exposure: 24 x 120sec. exposures at ISO800. Darks and flats applied, no guiding. Camera: Canon 300D modified Software: DeepSkyStacker, PS CS Location: 42deg 57'46"N, 82deg 20'28"W, Sarnia, Ontario, Canada Date: 03/24/2008 Comments: This is a late season attempt to image the Horse Head and the position of this target was therefore in the SW night sky. This area of the sky, for me, is very light polluted. I could therefore onyl use 24 of the 30 subs that I collected and had to deal with a lot of light pollution in the processing. I also thought that I had the HH centered when I took my test shots, but as it turned out, the nebula was barely in the FOV. The moddified camera allowed me to improve over my first attempt at imaging this nebula, which I made over a year ago. |
