M42 - The Orion Nebula

Photo Details: Scope: Skywatcher ED80 @ f/7.5 Filters: None Exposure: 35 x 60sec. exposures at ISO800. Darks x 10 subtracted, no flats. Camera: Canon 300D unmodified Software: DeepSkyStacker, PS CS Location: 42deg 57'46"N, 82deg 20'28"W, Sarnia, Ontario, Canada Date: 09/29/2006 Comments: I also captured 4 x 25sec. images to help preserve the core. I still need to go back and reprocess in order to improve that area of the image. This fall, I will try to reimage with my modified Canon 300D and go for longer exposures. Update Oct. 14th 2007: I have finally reprocessed this image and controlled for the core to the best of my abilities. Over the last year I have learned a lot about processing from the group at Cloudy Nights and updated this image using techniques I have learned.
