Points of Interest Around the Island

Pine Point Dock

This was one of the last docks to be built, on the north side of the island. In winter, the wind out of the north can be brutal for anyone standing on this dock.

But in the summer, it is a joy to behold. It faces out into a secluded bay and the pristine wilderness of the far mainland shore. It offers the greatest privacy and seclusion, to such extent that some of our guests have been, ahem, forgetting to don their swimsuits at times. The dock is in full sun most of the day, but the trees on the shore that shade the picnic table offer cooling comfort. This dock is perfect for those morning dips that many of our Pine Point guests seem to like.

There is a floating section that we attached a couple of years ago. This piece of dock just floated onto our shore and was not claimed by anyone. We feel that due to its broken-down condition it had been discarded, but with a bit of sweat, lumber, and floating insulation it is once again (for a while at least) a dock.
