Relaxing
 |
At the end of a day filled with
all kinds of fun activities, or on a day when
Mother Nature just does not want to recognize
your vacation plans, there are many things to
do to unwind and recharge your batteries.
Reading
- The shelves in all the cabins are filled with
magazines and books, both old and new on just
about every topic. We have novels, old school
texts, outdoor magazines, joke books, puzzle
books, and of course magazines dealing with
cottaging and boating. |
Board
Games - Check out the collection of
board games on the shelves just inside the back door
of the Homestead cabin (Monopoly, Risk, etc.) We also
have puzzles to challenge you. Set up a card table
if you want to keep one going for a while without
interfering with your use of the dining table. There
are also several decks of playing cards on hand for
your enjoyment.
Radio
& TV - We have StarChoice satellite
TV, which not only carries familiar television programs,
but also an incredible choice of music channels which
play non-stop music to suit your tastes, commercial-free,
24 hours per day. Also, the Radio/Cassette/CD unit
will let you play your own music CDs, or listen to
a drawer-full of cassette tapes that my brother left
here when he sold us the property.
For the TV, we have both a DVD player and a VHS player,
plus a selection of movies on both tape and DVD in
the cupboard above the TV. If they are not enough
of a selection, come on over to the Main Lodge and
borrow one from us at no charge. And if our selection
is not broad enough, then right across the bay at
the local marina they have an entire wall of movies
for rent.
Just Enjoy
the Moment - Pour yourself a drink
and simply lose yourself in thought, drinking in the
fresh pine aromas of the bush free of all the Southern
Ontario pollution. Sit on the dock and watch the waves
come in, or look for the occasional fish to jump at
a bug on the water surface. Or take a nap on the bed
in the screened-in porch while someone else gets dinner
ready (your turn tomorrow...)
Visit
your Hosts - Take a walk around, and
if you see your hosts sitting relaxing somewhere (usually
on the Main Docks), sit down and have a drink with
us.
