CFUW-Welland & District was founded in 1941 and is part
of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW), a voluntary,
not-for-profit, self-funded organization of 112 clubs with
a combined membership of over 10,000 women university graduates.
CFUW/FCFDU is the largest of the 79 member affilitates of
the International Federation of University Women (IFUW). The
Welland & District club is comprised of approximately
75 women from Welland, Pelham, Port Colborne, and Wainfleet.
The club has monthly meetings, September to June, to conduct
business as well as to hear guest speakers on topics of interest
which include the arts, social or political issues, health,
history etc. The exception is December and June when the club
hosts dinners. Club members also have the opportunity to initiate
or join existing interest groups.
