Once again, congratulations to all Councils on a
year of hard work. It’s good to see all Councils getting recognized for their
efforts.
Welcome back to all Councils and Brother Knights. Lets
make this fraternal year as good as the last.
First and Second Degree
As the new fraternal year begins to unfold we
have a first and second degree on September 21st at Council 8919
Father Paul Wattson in Forest Glade at 1:00pm.
Please start to recruit new members so all Councils can begin fulfilling their
quota for the year.
September Message
Dear Brother Knights:
Welcome back to our new fraternal year 2008/09 of the Knights of Columbus
order. Our summer and vacation time has come to an end, and Keith and I hope
you and your family have enjoyed the time you’ve spent together.
September is the beginning of our fraternal year
when Councils will become busy with fall and winter activities and various
programs, which mean informing the community of the many fine works your
Council plans to do in the upcoming year. This includes recruiting,
volunteering, fundraising, and other church and community events. Please
remember that the job is only considered complete when the paper work is
finished and sent to the State and Supreme office by the appropriate deadline.
At the District 76 meeting in July 14/2008, an
issue that was discussed was membership recruitment. This year the goal for
new members for the District is 45. All Councils in District 76 need to work
together so that all Councils can contribute and we can meet this quota
together. We don’t want any Councils
in the District to finish the fraternal year without meeting their quota.
Please see your Grand Knight for degree dates
for the fraternal year. The initial first and second degree will be on Sunday,
September 21st at Father Paul Wattson
Council 8919 Candidates
1:00pm..
There will be a third degree on November 2nd
hosted by Bishop John T. Kidd Council 4924 in District 39. Candidates and
sponsors must arrive for the degree punctually at
1:00pm.
