Operating Modes

In typical installations, fixtures are ganged. Each device can be connected either as a Master or as a Slave without any limitation on the number of ganged fixtures. The designated Master device reads the desired setting either from a manual or a programmable source. It relays this information to all ganged fixtures connected as Slaves. The Dim&Save device will detect tube failure and turn the fixture off. Thus, when no light is produced, power consumption in the ballast is eliminated.

The Dim&Save device can be incorporated in a variety of control schemes:

  • Manual control: A resistive slider switch can be used to set the desired dimming level.
  • Automated control: A photosensor feedback can be used to maintain the constant light level setting.
  • Intelligent Power Management control: An intelligent controller can be used to set the dimming level.
The Master can be connected to any one of the above controllers via the following interfaces:

  • Direct electrical wiring.
  • Infra red connection.
  • Wireless connection.
  • Power Line Carrier connection.
