High Intensity Discharge Lamps are efficient but costly. Dimmers are available but very expensive. High Intensity Discharge Lamp
Fluorescent Lamps with Electronic Ballasts are efficient but costly. Electronic dimmers are available but very costly.

Fluorescent Lamps with Magnetic Ballasts are efficient and inexpensive, and are widely used in industrial and commercial applications - comprising 85% of all existing installations in North America. No adequate dimmers are currently available.
