1999 Awards
Brock went to
the OUA banquet under the impression that there would be skits performed
by all the teams in the style of women's lacrosse. Discovering that
this was not the case, Brock decided to perform regardless, and thus
entertained the league with "If I Were Not a Lacrosse Player..." and
their rendition of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline".
Congratulations
are in order for Tisha Barnes, the West's Most Outstanding
Goalie.
In spite of accruing
over 50 points throughout the season, Les Maybury was suprisingly
passed over as Rookie of the Year. She was awarded the West Top Scorer,
a fact that could not be argued. Congratulations Les!
The team was especially
happy when first-year coach Mike Accursi was awarded the West's
Coach of the Year. Congratulations Mike, you're the best!
Named to the OUA
West All Star Team were; Tisha Barnes, Laura Centofanti,
Heather Hurst, Les Maybury, and Megan Ryan. Congratulations!
At the Brock University
Athletic's Banquet, Megan Ryan was named Team MVP, and Les
Maybury was named Rookie of the Year.
