Dave Bowes is a professional electronics engineer with over 30 years of new product design and engineering management experience.
He has combined his professional electronics and software design experience with a love of things mechanical and his model engineering hobby to create the EVIC  engines.
These engines are designed to demonstrate how low cost micro computer electronics can be used to control the valves of small I.C. engines.  By putting his engines to work in radio controlled model boats and planes he has shown that they can produce useful power.
Every major car and truck manufacturer in the world has worked on electronically actuated valve technology.  Dave has develope this technology for his small 12.5 cc and 17 cc per cylinder engines.  He has also created a Student Guide to assist those who wish to try their hand at extending this technology to larger I.C. engines.
Dave is retired and living in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.  He plans to continue developing his EVIC engines and to enjoy his other hobby interests.  These include designing, building  and flying radio control airplanes.
He is the author of the book "The EVIC - 111, A 1 Cylinder, 1" Stroke, 1" Bore IC Engine with Electronically Actuated Valves".  He has had  articles published by The American Model Yachting Association, The Canadian Radio Yachting Association, The Home Shop Machinist magazine, Strictly IC magazine, Model Engine World magazine and Model Engine Builder magazine.  He is currently writing model engine Performance articles for Model Engine Builder.
