On March 21,1998, despite a severe snow storm which rocked the Niagara Penninsula, a contingent of 15th Burlington Cubs travelled to the Boulevard Mall in Buffalo, NY to participate in the Polaris District Pinewood Derby. The event was hosted by the Cub Scouts of Polaris District in the Greater Niagara Frontier Council B.S.A.. (The Pinewood Derby is the American equivalent of the Kub Kar races.)
The 15th's contingent included Nick S., Nick D., Patrick D., Mike D., Cameron S., Aaron D., and Tommy S. (who were all glad the event wasn't cancelled!) Unfortunately, despite a noble effort, none of our Kars placed in the races. After the race TEAM 15th treated themselves to a Buffet Dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Even though we didn't win, it was fun being Canadian Ambassadors for a day. Thanks to Bill Boy and the organizing team at Polaris District, GNFC for hosting us!
