- This barge was used in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s for moving logs and items across the lake. It was a center paddle wheel boat with the paddle about 1/3 from the stern. The steam boiler was removed and used in a nearby sawmill and the boat eventually was used as a barge. It sank in the early 1900s. - Overall probably a nice dive if we could have seen her better. Would like to try again either when the sun was high noon (we hit the water at about 7:00pm) or a different season. - This dive is in about 30 feet of water (mid summer) spring or late fall or mid day may yield better vis results. - Water was about 58 degrees at depth (which we were told was warmer than usual - Visibility was approximately 3 feet (I could just make out my hand in front of me). - This dive is open water and shallow but can be considered an advanced dive due to the limited visibility. - This wreck has been documented by S.O.S. |
