Clavius Community Notes

2008 SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY

Meeting #46: 22 June to 19 July

At the invitation of Saint Louis University and its Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Clavius group met for its forth-sixth annual session. Clavius was originally a group of Jesuit mathematicians, but now includes other religious and lay colleagues who are interested in sharing research and teaching of mathematics within a faith community. Through the efforts of Rev. Michael May, SJ, department chair, we were graciously provided with lecture rooms and office space in Ritter Hall. We were housed in one building of the Student Village, where meals and social events took place. A gathering room in the Loyola Center for Campus Ministry was used for daily Mass. Several colleagues from the department and from nearby Washington University attended and gave talks in the seminars.
