As you can tell from the title I'm new to NaNoWriMo, and I am looking forward to November. I don't have a lot of experience writing novels or short stories, but I do have some talent when it comes to writing. I posted this thread in hopes that some of you will share your stories about your, 'first years' and tell me what to expect. Also, I'm nervous about the added problem of me being a student and finding time for writing. I have absolutely no clue about time management or schedules, so this should be, at the very least, interesting. ^__^;

Hi, Welestra - how have you been recently?
And welcome, Kat - my name is Chris, I'm a Hamilton regular, been doing this for a few years now. My first year was nervous but exciting, and rather solitary, in that I didn't come out to write-ins or other events much, and I wish that I'd made more of an effort back then.
If you can manage a steady pace and not worry about going back to revise what you've written, it isn't hard to find enough time to win Nano I think - it's just 1667 words per day, focus on that. And if you fall behind, you should be able to catch up.
