Canoe Camp 2010 April 17, 2010 - Aldershot Community Pool June
4th – 6th, 2010
- Camp
Wheeler SCOUTS, VENTURERS, PATHFINDERS
One of the
Area's most eagerly anticipated events is fast approaching. The
annual Area Canoe Camp, to be held this year from June 4th to 6th at
Camp Wheeler near Haliburton, is an opportunity for Scouts to learn
valuable canoe skills in a controlled environment, and from
experienced instructors. One of the overall objectives of this event
is to cover off the requirements for the Paddling Challenge badge,
as detailed in your Scout Book. And, of course, it's a ton of
fun!
The camp
will also include an overnight out trip for Scouts working on the
Advanced Tripping badge, and an Island overnight for Scouts wanting
to learn lightweight camping skills.
Prior to
attending the camp at Wheeler, all Scouts will be required to attend
a mandatory Skills session and Pizza party, to be held at a
Burlington public swimming pool. This has been scheduled for April
17th from 2:00pm to 6:30pm at Aldershot Community swimming pool.
Cost for
the event will be $85 per person, food, canoes and accommodation
included. Registration deadline is April 16th at 8:00pm.

CO-OP Camp: The
Wild West
September 24 - 26, 2010 - Camp Manitou
SCOUTS, GUIDES, PATHFINDERSJointly organized by the
Area and Escarpment Area Guiding for
over 32 years, Co-Op has grown to become the event of
the Guiding / Scouting year.
The purpose of the
event is to enable members of Girl Guides and Scouts to live, work and play together in a fun situation
common to both organizations. This will help them realize their similarities (in
interests, challengers & skills) and make them aware of areas where they can help each
other.
The program
involves physical (active) activities during the day and a late Saturday evening with a
dance & movies. Leader discretion is advised as to younger campers attending.
Further information can be found on our Co-Op
2010 Website or email: campchief@coopcamp.org.
