Bell - Making it simple. (TM)
"You'll do anything to protect your kids from inappropriate content. So will we."
This quote is from a flyer I recently received with my phonebill. The overlay is of an encyclopedia type female body with organs exposed. As if they had been cut out with a pair of scissors, certain body parts are missing. Breasts carry a stigma that takes careful editing choices to search and get only medical information. However why wouldn't you want your twelve year old daughter to be able to search ovaries on the web? or uterus? Huh?! How inappropriate is that? Why is a 21rst century telecommunications service provider helping to perpetuate the myth that certain female body parts are inappropriate? Seems to me that advertising of this sort throws female self-awareness and pride back oh, about at hundred years or so.
