Ken Allan sweet potato flower Vegetable Garden

Organically Grown Vegetable Seed

2007 was bad for seed production in my garden. I had problems with deer and birds and a few personal health problems (in addition to PD). In 2008 things got no better. The result is that, for the being at least, I am getting out of the seed business.

Sources for sweet potato slips are:

Greg Wingate of Mapple Farm (129 Beech Hill Rd, Weldon, NB, E4H 4N5) has Georgia Jet and a selection of other varieties; he sells slips rather than seed roots. "Mapple Farm" <wingate@nbnet.nb.ca>

Brian Minter, Country Garden Ltd (46129 Hope River Rd, Chilliwack, BC, V2P 3P1) has Georgia Jet cuttings for direct sales from Country Garden outlets. I understand he has also sent some orders by mail.

Ruth Hayward and Brian Burt of Burt's Greenhouses, Odessa, Ontario, are going to be producing slips of Georgia Jet and a few others. Email: Ruth Hayward <bburt@kingston.net>

As of spring 2010, I still have copies for sale of my book Sweet Potatoes for the Home Garden. I will have a limited supply of sweet potato seedstock (Georgia Jet and Toka Toka Gold) available for pickup but not for mailorder.

If you have questions, my e-mail address is: allan@cogeco.ca
