I have been a knife enthusiast since the age of a young boy when I entered scouting. At the same time my love for the outdoors took off. I can remember even back to my earlier years that I use to watch the water flow between puddles after a long rain and could image them being water ways that a person could travel which would most likely explain my life long passion of canoeing.

Combined together both my love of the outdoors and love of cutlery has shaped my view of knives as an invaluable tool.

Over the years  my experiences with the outdoors along with my hobby of woodworking and the fact I work in a manufacturing facility has shaped my view of design to be one of a fine balance. Many would argue the importance of the blade as compared to the handle blade geometry over steel and so on but for me a tool that is intended to cut and cut well must be a fine balance of its entire features to achieve the function for which it is made. That is why I focus on the all around design of a knife not for the sake of making something that looks different or to make something indestructible but to make a well thought out cutting tool with a keen edge and ergonomic feel to be a solid companion for the job at hand.
