The book below is written by Tsuyoshi Chitose himself and translated by Sensei Chris Johnston. Sensei Johnston is a member of the Kai-Shin organization headed by Hanshi Monty Guest. While the book is not a comprehensive training manual for Chito Ryu, but it does give insight into the philosophy of O-Sensei and shows examples of his martial art.

The DVD below gives a remarkable snapshot of what Karate training was like in 1967. It is compiled from an old documentary called "Empty Hand". The video quality is not great and the DVD itself is only thirty minutes long but it shows the beginnings of chito ryu karate in Canada. You will see Tsuyoshi Chitose, Shane Higashi and Masami Tsuruoka. There is Canada's first karate tournament with champions Hal Henschel and Fred Boyko. Anyone who is into Chito Ryu will love this DVD.

Taira Shinken, One of Okinawa's most renowned Kubudo masters and teacher to Chito Ryu Senior Instructors

The "Best Karate" series by Masatoshi Nakayama, chief instructor for the Japan Karate Association is a fundamental resource for Shotokan style practicioners. The books provide in-depth coverage of the most popular shotokan kata as well as topics in self defence for women and men. I have several of these books and they are helpful both for students and instructors.

The techniques of kata are fully described and pictured in sequence, underscoring the important points of the dynamics of strength, changing direction, and jumping to ground.

Chojun Miyagi's: "Goju-Ryu Karate-Do"

In this DVD you will learn what really made Miyagi into a legend, what exactly was his dream for karate in the future, what his contributions to karate were and exactly what he changed and why. Although there is no known footage of Miyagi, in this DVD you will see Miyazato Eiichi and his famous Jun Do Kan performance as well as many rare photos of Yagi Meitoku and his Meibukan. The question of successorship is discussed without bias or prejudice to a logical conclusion based on the facts.
