Sensei Willie

Rivergrove Recreation Center Karate Classes

Sensei Willie teaches Chito Ryu karate at the Rivergrove Community Center. There are 2 classes on most Wednesday's at 6:30pm and 7:45pm. Students get a good warmup, do basic techniques and then break off into groups to learn kata. Some Chukidokwan hapkido techniques are also taught to introduce the students to self defense.

Traditional martial arts values of perseverance, determination and hard work are taught with some fun and games thrown in for good measure. Children and adults can benefit from Sensei Willies wealth of martial arts experience.

Sensei Willie has been a student of Oscar Landry and the Mississauga Chito Ryu academy for almost 18 years. He holds senior black belt ranking in Chukidokwan Hapkido which he teaches on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Quoc Wai kung fu club on Semenyk Drive in Mississauga. Sensei Willie's drive and determination inspire both young and old students alike.

Grading results were announced at both of Sensei Willies Chito Ryu karate classes. Several students advanced to yellow Belt, orange Belt and yellow stripe. We wish we could award everyone who graded a belt ranking but for those who did not receive a belt take heart. You are very close and almost made it. You just need to practice a little more. Congratulations to those who received a belt. You all worked very hard.

Here are some pictures of students receiving their belts.
