Mark
Bovine B.F.A. Director |
|
An active Toronto bassist, composer, arranger and music producer, Mark established JMC to provide professional music to outlets interested in adding an extra air of exclusivity by virtue of live music. He is currently Head of the music department at College Francais and works tirelessly playing Jazz, R&B and Top Forty nightly at such venues as The Montreal Bistro, The Rex, Lee's Palace, The Reverb and Second City to name a few. Mark has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Blue Note recording artist Kurt Elling and Seamus Blake, as well as such renowned artists as Don Thompson, Michael Occhipinti, Don Palmer, Del Dako, Richard Whiteman, Jake Wilkinson, and Matt Dusk. He has also had the privilege of performing with the UToronto Symphony Orchestra and the Brampton Symphony Orchestra to perform classical repertoire.

Shaun
Evans |
An
active performer, Shaun is one of Toronto's leading arrangers and
tenor saxophone players with doubles on flute, clarinet, and alto
sax. He has performed with the Niagara Symphony and joined numerous
local society dance bands. He was also Musical Director for Carnival
Cruise Lines before returning to Toronto where he is the leader
and frontman of the most eclectic, bold and talented ensembles in
the Greater Toronto Area. |

Paulson |

A
quiet and humble fellow, Chad is one of the most underrated guitarist
on the Toronto scene. As leader of Ultra Magnus, he fronts an African
Rock/Jazz fusion ensemble. He also plays a vital role in a majority
of the collective's ensembles. |
Stephen
Ruttan |
Steve
is a graduate of the York University program for Jazz, theory, and
performance. He can be found playing around the GTA with bands like
the TJO, Swing Gang, Swing Shift, his own trio and the Jason Stillman
Quintet. |

Alex
Thomson |
|
Alex is one of the collective's Horny Horns and illustrious singing and dancing frontmen. Alex left Toronto to play aboard the "Fun Ships" of Carnival Cruise Lines. Now back in Toronto's Annex, he once again found his niche as a poweful horn man and crooner spectaculaire. |
Kevin O'Donnell |
Kevin O'Donnell, a native of Toronto, has been an active member of the local jazz scene since 1998. He is known both for his love of the Toronto tradition of jazz as well as for a creative approach to Brazilian music, R&B, funk/soul, popular, and other forms across the board. He is an experienced player with numerous groups in the jazz vein under his belt, as well as with all other formats of music, including musical pit bands and popular groups. |

Mark Laver |

Mark Laver is establishing a reputation as one of the most versatile young alto saxophonists in Toronto. He has performed in a variety of jazz, classical, and rock venues, including the George Weston Recital Hall, the Glenn Gould Studio, the Montreal Bistro, The Rex to name a few. He has performed with such jazz luminaries as Rich Perry, Alex Dean, Hugh Fraser, Melissa Stylianou, David Restivo, and Phil Nimmons. As a classical saxophonist, he won the gold medal for woodwind performance for the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2001. In the fall he will be performing the Glazounov Saxophone concerto with the Guelph Symphony Orchestra. |

Jeff Graville |
Jeff Graville is a versatile young musician who has played with diverse artists from Jeff Healey to Joe Sealy. He has performed on every major stage in Toronto including Roy Thompson Hall and Massey Hall, logged countless hours on the bandstands of Canadian clubs (Top 'o the Senator...), concert halls and theatres and appeared on national televison (Canadian Walk of Fame...) multiple times. After performing and touring with singer Matthew Aaron Dusk for three years, Jeff is enjoying freelancing as a drummer and composer. |

Gillian Margot |

With a full, lush, aged-in-oak voice and keen perception of harmony, it's no wonder that Gillian Margot stands out from today's top vocalists. The ability to beautifully depict a song's melody on the canvas of a vast contralto range is what allows her to not only lead a band as a dynamic vocalist, but also function as an in-demand sideman. Gillian's teeming talent has received accolades such as the Ella Fitzgerald Award for Jazz Performance in 1999 and 2000. |

Stillman |
Jason is one of Toronto's up-and-coming young saxophone talents. He is a graduate of the York University Jazz, theory, and performance program. Aside from his own quartet and quintet, he performs regularly as lead alto in the Toronto Ten. |
